How to Achieve Status in The Jocularity Group

General Requirements:

1. You must have gone to school or lived in Washington for some period of time or be a spouse/significant other of someone who did.

2. You must have a desire to reconnect with all of your old friends, not just the ones in your class.

If you meet the above general requirements, there are a number of different membership options available to you.

Full Membership Status: You must reveal your contact information to the membership, either a phone number, address, or an email address. Send to Phillip Blackmon at boydblackmon@aol.com or call 706-561-2841. He'd love to hear from you. You will then receive a complete list of all the members and their contact information. At that point you will be reborn and will be on the inside looking out. Life will never be the same.

Emeritus Status: Once you have fulfilled all of the requirements for Full Membership and attended a meeting in person, you are automatically bestowed with Emeritus Status. Once you have achieved Emeritus Status no one, not even the self appointed president, can take away your membership. It is yours for life, sort of like being a supreme court judge.

Hall of Fame Status: Hall of Fame members are those who achieved Emeritus Status but were called home to be with the Lord. Everyone who attains Emeritus Status will eventually achieve Hall of Fame Status. So, please be patient. Click here to remember our Hall of Fame members.

Shadow Membership Status: Our charter does allow some privileges without attending a meeting or even sharing your contact information with the membership. But, you must reveal your email address to Phillip Blackmon (boydblackmon@aol.com), the self appointed president. Otherwise, how would he know to make you a shadow member? He will blind copy you on all emails to the membership but will not share your information with anyone else. However, please be warned. Shadow membership can be a dark and lonely existence. We have had a few who tried, simply could not take it, and made the life changing decision to spring for full membership.

Are you wondering if you really need to join to participate? Of course you don't. Joining up is just our way of making sure we have your permission to share your contact information with the group. Just show up at the meetings and you will be welcomed with open arms.
